What is Special Olympics?

Special Olympics is a Non-Profit Organization that reaches out to people with disabilities and let them have an opportunity to be on a sports team. Special
Olympics also has volunteers which helps play a major role when it comes to competition/meets. They are also around the nation and not just in Illinois so
they can let as many people as possible with intellectual disabilities have a chance to be on a team. There are also teams that have athletes with disabilities
and no disabilities which is called, "Unified." Special Olympics was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1968. Since more athletes are joining and Special
Olympics becoming famous, it is the world's largest sports organization for children as well as adults with disabilities. You can also donate money to them
on their website. And if you want to help make a change, you can subscribe for emails that show events in your area to volunteer for.
