Fundamentals of Volleyball

Volleyball can be played competitively as well as recreational play which can have a coed team.
If you want to play competitively, then you must have a team of six players on each side of the net.
Most competitive teams will consist of a full team of twelve or thirteen players, having a backup
person for each position.

Bump Pass the setter Volleyball Spike

The whole volleyball court is 59 feet long and 29.5 feet wide with a net in the middle to separate the
sides of the two teams. The regulation of the net for men is 7 feet 11 & 5/8 inches above the center of
the court. The height of the net for women is 7 feet 4 & 1/8 inches. When playing volleyball for fun or
competitively, both ways have a maximum of three hits to get the ball back over the net. Players have
three options on how to come into contact with the ball. The player can pass it using the inside of
their arms which is known as a "bump." The second way the player can come into contact with the ball is
by setting it. To perform a "set" properly without it being called a "lift," the player can use their
finger tips and have your hands act like a trampoline in order to have the ball go into the air. And the
third way to get the ball back over the net is by spiking the ball. A spike is the act of scoring a point
by slamming the ball over the net into the opposing court effectively and aggressively.
